  • Abstract
    This paper proposes a stochastic activity network model for P2P file-sharing to evaluate the quality of service provided. Key characteristics taken into account include the number of peers, fraction of malicious peers, peer churn, endusers´ behavior, and security evaluation scheme applied. The results show that security evaluation schemes influence the quality of service significantly, while the fraction of malicious peers is less important. Given the temporal characteristics of the system, it is found that there is an optimal end-user patience before he/she seeks a new peer, which is robust with respect to the previous mentioned characteristics.
