Abstract
We propose a switched-beam smart antennas scheme which is based on the 2-dimensional searching of beams and channels, and analyze the signal to interference (SIR) performance of the system uplink when employing the scheme. The proposed scheme has a better performance compared with the traditional scheme of 1-dimensional singular searching of the beams and channels. It accords with the development of smart antennas in future mobile communication systems.
