Abstract :
This work presents a compact and broadband implantable PIFA with three-resonators for dual-band biotelemetry. The proposed antenna effectively covers both MICS band and 2.4 GHz ISM band with three resonances. By properly arranging the radiator of π-shape with two meandered strips, this work could obtain three-resonates. Therefore, the designed antenna can provide a broad bandwidth of 150 MHz and 170 MHz in the MICS and ISM band, respectively. The proposed antenna structure is very suitable for designing the multi-band implantable antenna, and has compact size of only 844 mm3. In order to verify the performance of implantable antenna in MICS and ISM bands, the test tissue is adopted with minced front-leg of pork. The measured and simulated results are shown in good agreements. This approach can be used to verify the multi-band implantable antenna.
