Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a P2P-based live streaming system called PcubeCast. Different from conventional P2P systems, PcubeCast utilizes servers to ensure end-user QoS. Thus, the proposed PcubeCast takes advantage of traditional systems: 1) Quality-of-Service(QoS) from client-server systems and 2) scalability and cost reduction from P2P systems. Through the experiments with real-world application data, we show that PcubeCast improves scalability up to 10 times while ensuring end-user QoS.
