Abstract
Dual-rate single-wavelength transmitter is proposed and demonstrated for passive optical networks, using lowpass-filtered 2.5Gb/s NRZ modulation and bandpass-filtered 10Gb/s delay modulation. Experimental results showed 37.5dB and 25.5dB power budget respectively for 2.5Gb/s and 10Gb/s transmissions over 20km fiber.
