Abstract :
This paper deals with approximation methods for fractional operators. Fractional calculus is a new concept for engineers and we need tools to analyze and utilize the same. One way to do the same is to use approximation method. Approximation methods evaluate integer order (transfer function) equivalent of fractional operator, which can be utilized for realization of fractional operators, obtain state space model etc. However, approximation method has limitations in case of direct discretization.
