Abstract :
The paper concerns high-frequency scalar diffraction on a contact of two acoustic media with different velocities of propagation. Attention is focused on the boundary layer in a neighborhood of the point of incidence of the limiting ray and on the interference head wave formed by the whispering gallery wave.
