  • Abstract
    This paper presented a novel next generation intelligent network (NGIN) with Parlay API. Value added services are predominantly based on ITU´s intelligent network (IN). Due to a wide range of heterogeneous hardware platforms, the forthcoming network convergence to IP-based networks and the tremendous growth of telecommunication markets, the NGIN will be the core in the future world. In this paper, we give an NGIN architecture applying CORBA and agent technologies. The CORBA is not only the NGIN infrastructure, but also a key technology to smoothly evolve from traditional IN into NGIN. Service logic programs can migrate and control its operation locally with the help of agent technology. The agent in NGIN can exploit the ability of distributed control and load balancing in contrast to in traditional IN. A prototype of NGIN based CORBA and agent technology is presented at the end of paper. The advantage and implementation of NGIN are also described in detail. Finally, the conclusion and future works are given at the end of the paper.
