Abstract :
The response of demands to disturbed supply conditions is considered in this paper as an input parameter for the decision of the restoration of a smart distribution system. A new module to investigate the response of demand side to the disturbances in the decision of restoration plan is developed. With the installation of advanced metering devices at homes and businesses the end-use customers are provided opportunities to actively participate in the network Demand Response (DR) program. Based on the proposed method in this paper the predetermined or real-time demand response capacity from end-use customers is deemed as an input to the restoration process. This new module simplifies the calculation of restoration plans and thus, enables the utility to restore customers more rapidly. Moreover it provides a more flexible and information rich platform for the restoration of a smart distribution system.
