Abstract
With Internet developing, not only the network infrastructure is evolving, but also the attached terminals and the applications based on it are diversifying. TCP is inefficient and even cannot meet the application requirements in some resource-limited environment, especially for particular application scenarios on Internet of Things or wireless sensor networks. In this paper, an improved TCP is proposed which optimizes connection setup and tear-down processes. It can not only guarantee connection security and data transfer reliability, but also enhance real-time performance, reduce communication overhead, and save power for communicating end nodes. This improved TCP has been simulated and executed on a production network, the final result shows that it is reliable and has a dramatic performance improvement over the traditional TCP.
