            Abstract :
We compare, in terms of both performance and complexity, two types of spectrally efficient techniques for low-PMEPR OFDM transmission: PTS techniques (partial transmit sequence) and a class of techniques which combines a nonlinear operation in the time domain and a linear, filtering operation in the frequency domain. From our performance results, when considering M-QAM constellations on N ≥ 64 subcarriers, the advantage of the techniques which involve a nonlinear operation in the time domain is made clear, especially for small M and high N.
