Abstract
This paper reviews the emerging advances in the waveform design and system development for multifunctional wireless systems that integrate both communication and sensing functions. State-of-the-art communication-radar modulation schemes are presented and their features are discussed regarding the transceiver fusion. Theoretical and experimental research on integrated communication and radar platform is highlighted to showcase the current system development. Future research topics in this direction are also pointed out.
