            Abstract :
Condition monitoring of induction motors traditionally involves current measurements to detect electrical faults, and accelerometer measurements to determine mechanical faults. This work focuses on the use of acoustic measurements for condition monitoring, and proceeds from preliminary work done by Reynders, et al. (1992). The feasibility of identifying loose stator coils by acoustic measurements is shown, as is the identification and verification of a suitable neural network to perform this task automatically
