  • Abstract
The authors discuss implementation strategies for time domain transient analysis of MOS VLSI circuits using message passing parallel processors. The multicomputer system discussed uses INMOS T800 processors. Direct and iterative methods for transient analysis are described and compared from a parallel processing perspective. Strategies for implementing a circuit simulator based on waveform relaxation are discussed in detail. Waveform relaxation is an iterative method developed for analysis of MOS VLSI circuits. It is capable of improving the simulator performance without sacrificing accuracy.
