Abstract :
We report an extremely low-power-consumption (0.73-W) optical amplifier repeater, which consists of an uncooled semiconductor optical amplifier and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier pumped by uncooled laser, for the first time. We have successfully demonstrated a 64-way split, 60-km 10G-EPON system.
