Abstract :
Vehicle Road Train(VRT) can solve many problems of mass passenger and cargo transportations, improving utilization efficiency of road and human resources. Vehicle speed control is an important technology in VRT system. Engine speed can be obtained using CAN channels from ECU in the header vehicle engine. The trailer´s speed must be controlled with an acceptable speed range. Voltage of acceleration pedal and the engine speed are transmitted from the header to trailers by the CAN-BUS. Engine speed is controlled by regulating voltage signal of acceleration pedal in the trailers. An engine controller is designed and a prototype is implemented. Combining a PID Controller and a Fuzzy Controller, a good controller of engine speed can be achieved.
