Abstract :
A program, named DSPlab, that provides a PC-based environment for the synthesis and analysis of digital signals and the systems which affect them is presented. The environment incorporates a novel user interface designed to be simple to learn and use, powerful enough for practical signal processing, and programmable for repetitious tasks. DSPlab operates on signals stored as either floating point or integer arrays, but can also manipulate real, integer, or Boolean scalars. The tools provided by the environment include signal generation and editing; signal and scalar calculation using arithmetic and transcendental functions; windowing and Fourier transforms; and display, print and file utilities. Data acquisition hardware is supported. User commands can be grouped into macros and modified using a built-in text editor. DSPlab can be programmed by using the macros in Pascal-like control structures
