Abstract
The feasibility of optical multiple-access using subcarrier multiplexing (SCM), which enables achieving simple, low cost and flexible networks is reported. A novel network configuration with cascaded optical modulators is proposed for beat-noise-free operation. The basic transmission characteristics for the proposed network are analyzed, and a wide area video monitoring system using the proposed network configuration is designed
