Abstract :
This paper deals with production of the cable core insulation, specifically with insulation extrusion from cross-linking polyethylene (XLPE). It describes an effect of the tools (die and tip) setting on the mechanical properties of the final insulation and its possible degradation during the poor processing. Results of the mechanical properties measurements are discussed.
