Abstract :
Operational commanders are used to the procurement of commercial satellite services to support all types of deployment. Extension of this approach to allow delivery of military satellite capacity through an industrial service provider potentially offers a range of commercial and operational benefits, but also raises a number of complex questions related to assured availability of capacity. This paper describes possible technical and operational structures to deliver milsatcom services and highlights the benefits for military users and procurement agencies
