Abstract
The question of the quality of voltage is rapidly increasing. New technologies are introduced and we are facing many new power quality requirements. Flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) are modern devices in power transmission and grid stability. The paper deals with the modelling and designing of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). DVR implements a voltage sags detection algorithm based on DQ transformation. The proposed algorithm is designed to operate correctly even during some disturbances and fault conditions. Several simulations have been performed in Matlab/Simulink in order to test the function of the algorithm and the whole DVR system.
