Abstract :
In a time varying channel, the optimum receiver is prohibitively complex and requires large power consumption. An adaptive nonlinear filtering technique applied to a direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) system combined with turbo codes is presented. The performance is evaluated for both the proposed system and the case where the turbo decoder has perfect channel side information (CSI). Two forms of jamming are considered: continuous wave (CW) and Gaussian noise jamming. Result shows that the performance loss of the suboptimal, low complexity, adaptive nonlinear processing system due to inaccuracies in channel estimation is small for sufficient window size
