Abstract :
Eco-e-Trading describes the e-business supported trading of environmental contingents between small businesses. Deduced from the already implemented European Emission Trading System (EATS) our research points out potentials to expand the trading to other and smaller operation fields and examines the potential of e-business within such systems. Applying the developed prototype within a case study of land area trading, the required dimensions of collaboration between actors involved are explained. The work yields towards sustainability in land area utilization. This is based on market based allocation principles, as a typical example of the bundling of activities within a digital ecosystem (DE).
