Abstract :
In order to study the working condition of UHV circuit breakers and determine the parameters of the transient recovery voltage (TRV) for the test of UHV circuit breakers, this paper investigated the prospect transient recovery voltages (TRV) of UHV circuit breakers in the Huainan-Wannan-Zhebei-Huxi UHV double circuit transmission system. The TRVs of UHV circuit breaker after interrupting breaker terminal fault, short line fault and out-of-phase fault were studied by EMTP simulation. The simulation results and waveforms are given. Based on the research results, the countermeasures and prospects for the TRV of UHV circuit breakers are discussed. It is recommended that modifications be made on the allowable deviation of rate of rise of TRV standard values for UHV breakers.
