Abstract :
In this paper, a new single stage power factor correction (PFC) circuit with resonant circuit and soft switching is presented. This circuit provides PFC with fully resonant circuit and also provides direct power transfer (DPT) and tight output voltage regulation with forward and flyback converters those based on resonance. Although the auxiliary switch turns OFF with hard switching, the PFC and the auxiliary switch turn ON with zero current switching (ZCS) and PFC switch turns OFF with ZCS without any current and voltage stresses on both of them. This circuit has PFC, tight output voltage regulation, DPT, soft switching and ease of control as well. In this study, a detailed steady state analysis of new converter is presented and theoretical analysis is verified by 100 kHz and 100W simulation results.
