Abstract
Particle filter algorithm (Particle Filter, Sequential Importance Resampling — SIR) is one of popular algorithms. It is popular not only because of the simplicity of the idea and installation but also because of its efficiency when modeling the complex and time varying nonlinear and non-Gaussian signal system. In this paper, we will represent the content of the Particle filter algorithm, and we will make a comparison between the Particle filtering algorithm and Extended Kalman filter algorithm [9] which is widely used nowadays. In addition, we also offer an evaluation of the number of particles which will be used in the Particle filter algorithm when deploying in a wireless sensor network model
