  • Abstract
    In wireless networks, localization or positioning of a mobile station (MS) is one of active research interests. Accurate, low-cost and efficient positioning is a critical requirement for the deployment of wireless network in a wide variety of applications. In this paper, we propose a new approach for accurate positioning using the angle of arrival (AOA) measurements. We perform the positioning of MS by another way to improve accuracy and to reduce calculation of distance measurements between the MS and base stations (BSs). Accurate MS position can be obtained by using antenna arrays. Also, our scheme can be extended in three-dimensional space. In the simulation results, we show that the proposed approach can achieve higher accuracy than traditional approach.
