  • Abstract
    Corona is a common type of partial discharge activity on high voltage insulators due to wet surfaces. An extensive level of corona will damage the hydrophobic properties of nano-composite insulators. This paper will discuss the RF radiation caused by corona discharge on two common nano-composite insulation materials used in high voltage distribution power lines. This will be explained using two water droplets on epoxy and silicone-rubber insulation materials under constant electrical stress.
