Abstract :
Describes the application of a new digital power line communication technology to remote meter reading. The technology uses partial amplitude shift keying, a generalized form of amplitude shift keying. In a low voltage simulation, standard utility meters were adapted for compatibility with the technology. Results of speed tests from three algorithms for interrogating the meter (treated as a dumb terminal) are presented
