Abstract
In recent years, wireless mesh networks based on 802.11 technologies have been deployed in real environment with huge interesting applications. Beside their advantages, some critical technique challenges have been remained because they heritage some disadvantage characteristics of ad hoc networks. In which, routing issue is the most challenge due to its importance and complexity related with network performance. Since WMNs deployment in practical scenario such as community network, routing issues have to face with more challenges which are coming from security problems. This paper studies on routing protocol performance of 802.11 based wireless mesh network under serious attacks, the results point out that the routing protocol performance is different under the same attack conditions and heavily depend on where attackers located in the network.
