Abstract
Agilent Technologies is a global manufacturer of test and measurement solutions and semiconductor products that are widely used across high technology industries and scientific fields. In order to refine the primary objectives for its Supply Chain Environmental Management (SCEM) program, Agilent implemented a formal annual SCEM benchmarking and assessment process. This paper discusses the methodology and findings of Agilent´s second annual assessment (2001). The results include a recommendation to fundamentally improve SCEM initiatives and standards for the electronic industries, particularly by setting realistic expectations, developing focused SCEM standards, and improving SCEM communication and verification.
