Abstract :
The minimum bandwidth requirements for a new digital communication method on power lines using waveform modification are determined and compared to those of other digital communication methods. It is found that while previous methods may possess theoretically lower bandwidth requirements, they cannot be used on power lines because they cannot satisfy the utility company´s restrictions on acceptable levels of signal distortion
