Abstract :
Energy savings on-board of an electric vehicle will contribute to improve their performance and autonomy. Having as reference a commercial electrical vehicle, the main purpose behind this work is to study and compare the efficiency resulting from different induction machine control methods fulfilling the requirements of the referred vehicle. The performed work had as reference the most recent developments, both in pure electrical vehicles and hybrid, since the modern motor control methods are an added value. In this study, two machine models were analyzed: one incorporated in a laboratorial bench and another that is equipping the electric commercial vehicle. The paper presents results based on the rotor field oriented control principle including steady - state operation and analysis under dynamic behavior. Defining as main strategy the power losses minimization, the comparison and results for different operation conditions will be presented and discussed.
