Abstract :
The paper presents the functional capabilities of regulator based on superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES). The dc-ac converter with space-vector pulse-width modulation (SV-PWM) control ensures the power transfer between SMES and power system. The functions of power quality improvement, uninterruptible power supply and also increase of power system transient stability are considered. The simulation results of several operation modes are presented to validate the effectiveness of proposed control algorithms.
