Abstract
Iterative decoding algorithm is an valid method to ameliorate the performance of system receiver. It has been used in Bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) for overcoming the drawback of BICM over AWGN channels. Since the iterative algorithm increase the complexity of the receiver and incur larger delay, a novel iterative decoding scheme using an optimal iterative scheme for Bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative decoding (BICM-ID) is proposed in this paper. Different from the conventional iterative decoding scheme for BICM-ID, this proposed scheme can stop iteration by analyses a tabulation which shows the relationship between SNR point and the relevant BER for each iteration. Simulation results show that the proposed iterative decoding scheme can not only reduce the meaningless iterations effectively but also lessen the BER when SNR is higher than a certain value.
