Abstract :
Summary form only given. The central aim of the work is to conduct basic research on metallized polypropylene based capacitors with the overall goal to increase the energy density for pulsed power applications. The three areas of research are improving the performance of flat windings, improving the sprayed end connection, and the feasibility for a polypropylene film ultraviolet treatment station. The feasibility for a polypropylene film ultraviolet treatment station is studied. The research looks at the ultraviolet treatment required and studies preliminarily the feasibility of a pilot test ultraviolet rewinder.
