  • Abstract
    A new design for the cores of synchronous machines, involving composites is being investigated by two methods of analysis: one is based on a 2-D multi-layer anisotropic model; whilst the other employs the finite elements technique. The results are compared and some conclusions are made as to the viability of such machines
