Abstract
The deregulation of the German transport market in 1993 and of the road haulage rates in 1998 faced forwarder companies to new challenges [1]. The changes necessitated a success and cost control as well as a consistent use of improvement potentials. These are essential especially for small and medium-size forwarding companies. The research project “Management Information System for Forwarder Companies” aims for closing the gap between needed and disposable Management Information of small and medium-sized forwarding companies. Performance measurement is still an assignment for these types of companies, caused by missing resources and by missing tools.
