  • Abstract
Summary form only given. A harmless and high-efficiency decomposition treatment for halogenized compounds using an electron source with a carbon nanotube has been proposed. (M. Yamaura and S. Uchida, 2006), ( M. Yamaura et al., 2007) It is observed that, at a high concentration, the amount of chlorophenol can be significantly decreased by using electrons from carbon nanotubes. The concentration is reduced to less than 1/1000 after only a few minutes of treatment. The injected energy for 1 g of chlorophenol is 46 J when the injection power is 0.5 W. The value of injected energy is only 1/161 compared with the value of injected one with treatment for barrier discharge. The treatment with carbon nanotubes is also effective for low-concentration halogenized compounds. A harmless and high-efficiency decomposition treatment for halogenized compounds using an electron source with carbon nanotubes is discussed.
