Abstract :
In conclusion, we evaluated the influence of the transmittance slope of the cascaded MUX/DMUXs. We proposed to determine the requirements for the bandwidth and the ripple of the MUX/DEMUX from this transmittance slope. In 16 spans (32 stages), there is tolerable ripple range per stage. Assuming that the MUX/DEMUXs are a third-order Butterworth filter, the optimum bandwidth is 1.1 nm
