Abstract
This paper presents the use of fuzzy control in AC servomotor drive applications. Comparison of performances obtained with an usual proportional integral (PI) controller and a fuzzy controller in both current and speed loops are presented. Simulation with the Matlab simulink package permits a comparison of the obtained responses to a reference step change, to a perturbation step change and to parameter uncertainties. For experimentation, both controllers are implemented on a DSP system card which controls a 1.1 kW induction machine with the field oriented control method. The authors show that the fuzzy controller is very robust: low sensitivity to parameter variations; and high rejection of perturbation. Experimental results on the speed loop are presented
