Abstract
A processor allocation strategy for a database machine under timing constraints is presented. Both static and dynamic processor allocation algorithms are proposed to maximize the guarantee ratio. The simulation results are encouraging. With both static and dynamic strategy applied, the guarantee ratio remains around 85%. This ratio drops to 63% without these two strategies
