Abstract
In this paper, we present detailed performances of an all-optical gain-controlled EDFAs in a 2.5-Gbps eight-channel WDM transmission system. The EDFA is a 980 pumped Al-co-doped fibre amplifier, whose small signal gain and noise figure are 26.5 dB and 4.5 dB, respectively, at 1555 nm
