Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach to the design and enumeration of Bode-type variable amplitude digital equalizers. The frequency response of the resulting digital equalizers can be varied from that of an arbitrary shaping transfer function to its inverse by varying the value of a single variable multiplier. A set of three realizability conditions is developed for the design of digital equalizers having arbitrary shaping transfer functions. The results thus obtained are applied to the design and enumeration of a class of 51 bump digital equalizers, of which 50 are new (the remaining one was reported in the literature some time ago). An application example is given to illustrate the resulting digital equalizers
