Abstract :
In this paper, an improved image contrast enhancement algorithm extending the existing contrast-tone mapping framework is proposed. The proposed method improves the existing algorithm with new definition of image contrast and novel constraints to the optimization. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed Improved Optimal Contrast-tone Mapping (IOCTM) algorithm outperforms existing histogram equalization based method as well as existing OCTM method.
