Abstract :
Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) due to the Doppler frequency spread (DS) occurring in high time-varying multipath fading channel would lead the fatal degradation of Bit Error Rate (BER) performance in the data communications of using the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique. To achieve the potential performances of OFDM technique, it is essential to realize the higher accurate channel estimator in the time-varying multipath fading channels. This paper proposes a novel channel estimation method in conjunction with an ICI mitigation method which can achieve better channel estimation accuracy and BER performance even in the higher time-varying fading channels. The salient feature of proposed method is to employ the window function for the transmission time domain OFDM signal for improving the side-lobe of frequency spectrum response which can reduce the ICI relatively. This paper presents various simulation results in the high time-varying fading channels to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method as comparing with the conventional methods.
