  • Abstract
The estimation of characteristics from the impact perforation process of materials by the high-speed photograph system has been studied. In this method, the characteristics of the material are estimated from the successive images that are taken after the small steel ball perforates into the material specimen. In this study, we propose to use the self-organization map to distinguish the steel ball, the background and the fragment of the specimen in the impact perforation images.
