  • Abstract
Telecine machines provide the means of converting a film to video, but the scanned images often suffer from irregular horizontal and vertical vibration due to inaccurate alignment of successive frames. This type of artifact is perceived as a annoying flicker. Correction of the flicker due to interframe misalignment needs accurate knowledge of relative frame locations sensed by a telecine machine. Global deformation between two frames contains such information, but interframe deformation is caused by camera work as well as interframe misalignment. For correction of this type flicker, we present a robust method for estimating relative frame locations separately from camera work and compensating for interframe misalignment.
