Abstract
The paper presents a first bibliometric map analysis of E-waste research from 2001 to 2011 providing the relations among the 35 most used terms in the field. More than 400 articles have been mapped with the help of a computer program called VOSviewer. From the interpretation of the map it is possible to conclude that there are five main clusters of interest in the field of E-waste research. These five clusters, in turn, can be grouped in two areas: one referring to management assessment and policy, the other to chemical and health issues. Conclusions shed light on how the streams of research evolved during the whole period of interest. Finally, directions for future research are identified.
