Abstract :
We have developed a proto-type experimental system for 3-D X-ray cone-beam CT which is composed of a monochromatic X-ray source, a computer-controlled turn table for rotating and moving objects, a 9-inch image intensifier, and a workstation. The system is designed based on exact cone-beam reconstruction theories and acquires projection data by using non-planar scanning orbits. The system also possesses a function of element selective imaging which visualizes quantitative distribution of typical contrast agents such as I, Ba, and Gd by using the K-edge energy subtraction technique
